Handfasting Altar
Handfasting is an ancient tradition often associated with Celtic or Pagan cultures, symbolizing a couple's commitment to each other. Unlike traditional wedding ceremonies, which are often legally binding, a handfasting ceremony is typically more spiritual or symbolic in nature. It involves the binding of the couple's hands with cords, ribbons, or similar materials to represent their union.

In Second Life, handfasting ceremonies can be a meaningful alternative to traditional ceremonies, offering a more customized and personal experience. The animation system helps create an immersive and visually engaging representation of the handfasting ritual.
Roles

Officiant:

Facilitates the ceremony and operates key animations.

Ensures smooth transitions between parts of the ritual.

Couple (Participants):

The focus of the ceremony.

Actively participates by aligning their avatars and following cues.

Setup the System

Rez the animation system in your ceremony location.

Position it in an area where the couple will stand, ensuring it is aligned properly.

Check that permissions are set to allow use by the officiant and participants.
​Prepare the Participants

Have the couple position their avatars in front of the system, ensuring they are facing each other.

Instruct the couple to adjust their animations if necessary by adjusting their hover height.
Coordinate with the Ceremony Script
Synchronize the animations with the script for a seamless experience. For example:

Begin the hand-binding animation as the officiant describes the symbolic meaning of the ritual.

Transition to a celebratory pose or embrace once the ritual is complete.

Activate the "Jump The Broom" animation (optional)
Tips
Practice: Run through the ceremony beforehand to ensure animations align with the script.
